Under 5s Day is huge success

Thousands of people headed to Himley Hall and Park today for the ever-popular Under 5s Day.

PAW Patrol characters Marshall and Skye were the stars of the show, featuring in Story Time sessions at intervals throughout the day.

Children got their buckets and spades out at the Himley Beach, which is made up of over 80 tonnes of sand.

Other activities on offer included a small petting zoo, the Air Ambulance helipod, Punch & Judy shows, pony rides, Lego for younger children, giant tortoises, a kiddie’s funfair, Box of Magic, balloon modelling, taster sessions for Hive of Craftivity Minimakers, MooMusic, MusicBugs, Peaceful Warriors Yoga, TumbleTots, BabyBallet, NN Dance and Cheer and the Road Safety Team. Councillor Shaun Keasey, cabinet member for commercialism and human resources, said:

"Today has been a tremendous success and it was wonderful to see young children enjoying such a vibrant and exciting range of activities.
"Dudley is focused on becoming a Child Friendly borough and we believe raising a child is something that no parent should face alone, which is why we organise events like Under 5s Day.
"Many families will now be looking forward to Armed Forces Day, which takes place at Himley Hall on Sunday and promises fun for all the family."
