Hall promises return of Royal Ball

Updated: Feb 28, 2020

Budding princesses and princes of Dudley borough are set to enjoy more magic in 2020, as Himley Hall and Park promises the return of a popular children’s event.

The 17th century Grade II listed building, which is owned and maintained by Dudley Council, hosted its first ever Royal Ball just before Christmas. The day was a huge success with little princesses from across the region turning out in their finest gowns.

Organised by ‘Once Upon A Time UK’, the princess themed afternoon included spellbinding theatrical performances, songs and music, dance lessons and delicious party foods.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:

"Himley Hall is the jewel in the borough’s crown and events such as this help to bring its endless appeal and magic to life for the younger generation.
"We are working with a number of theatre companies to organise events at the hall in 2020 including murder mysteries, theatre performances and much more."

Zoe Horton who owns and manages Once Upon A Time UK, said:

"The Royal Ball at Himley Hall and Park was truly enchanting and we were so delighted to be able to create a magical and memorable day for children and their parents.
"I am now in the process of organising many events at the hall in 2020, where we will once again make dreams come true, and people can keep an eye on our Facebook page @ukonceuponatime where we will publish the details when ready."
